I wonder if anyone else felt that this kind of message is was a bit out of
line--if not in just poor taste?

Talking privately with a friend about a meeting with a well-known
personality is something we all do, but broadcasting this to a bunch of
strangers seems to me a bit tacky. I wonder if poor old Dave knew that his
response to a question presumably asked out of concern or friendship, would
be broadcast so widely on the net and a violation of his personal privacy.
