If you're flying from Logan to SFO, there's a terrific display about
radio
now, thru April, in the Northern Connector Corridor (Gate 76 and higher
mostly a United Airlines terminal) at The San Francisco International
Airport
worth seeing. Old radios, OTR audio cuts as you walk by kiosks,
premiums
(Capt. Midnight decoder badges, et al), photos (personalities, original
studios,
etc.), scripts, mics (including a WTIC and WNLC microphone) and other
interesting stuff...including a 40 Ford Coupe on display.
Display of "Doc" Harrold's first regularly scheduled broadcast station
KQW in
1909 which continues today as KCBS in SF. I thought list members might
like
to know about the display. The SF Airport Commission's web address is:
SfoArts.org kudos to them for showcasing old radio. Worth seeing,
folks!
