You are correct. I remember I mentioned to one of my friends that WMEX was
changing call letters to WITS in the near future. So he called one of the
phone in talk shows on WMEX and asked why they were making the change. I
caused quite an uproar. The program director came on the air with the host and
was actaully yelling at him for mentioning the call letter change.
It would have been easier to just deny it, or say I'm not aware of any call
letter changes.
