I have a tape of the last "Talking Trivia" show (with
Morgan White Jr.) on WMRE, from January of 1987.
Pat Whitley can be heard doing an ad for the Windsor
Mills restaurant (in Dracut)-- I think Pat was at
WMRE, too?

One of the interesting things about WMRE is that
they carried Joan Rivers' Fox-TV talk show; I believe
Channel 25 refused to run it, so WMRE picked up the
audio. (Can't remember who owned Ch. 25 at the time--
Pat Robertson? The Celtics? Helen Broadcasting?)

WMRE had been a nostalgia station (the calls stood
for "memory"), and they switched to talk. I think they
went into bankruptcy and were bought by Noble Broadcasting-- they were
actually "dark" for awhile
in the interim.
