Susan Wornick

I'm not sure how many of you saw the front page article in today's Boston
Globe about the Susan Wornick situation. You can read the article at:

http://www.boston.com/dailyglobe2/047/nation/TV_news_feels_a_harsh__new_econom
ic_reality+.shtml

The article attributes the situation to changing economics in the TV business
and indicates that the principles are talking again and the rejected offer may
now be accepted. Apparently, she is not likely to get a larger offer anywhere
else.

It appears from everything that I have read that this is not an age
discrimination issue as some here have implied. It is simply a matter of the
station trying to hold the line on salaries, but we shouldn't feel too bad for
Ms. Wornick. She was still offered nearly $300,000 per year.
