Since Mega owns 10 stations and growing,
they are in a better position to attract big-name
national accounts who are trying to reach Hispanic
markets all over the country. It is a lot easier
to sell group stations/markets than individual stations. But even that
is easier said than done. Spanish (sub)format(s) is the hottest thing
out there but they remains a tough sell on Madison Ave. In NYC, for
example, Spanish FM is #1 but it's only 15th in billing....
Five? That's a pretty large number of outlets for Spanish-language
programming during daylight hours considering Boston has the smallest
ethnic population of all the major markets.
