According to Kevin Straley, PD at WRKO, The Two Dips had never done radio
before they were on WRKO. In last week's Radio & Records, Straley explains
that the two of the were arguing back and forth about the Clarence Thomas
hearings while in the sauna at their gym and another person in the sauna
suggested they get a radio talk show. Lesley didn't think the idea was viable
but Laurie started to research the idea and try to find them a job. They were
then hired to do Sunday nights at WRKO, then quickly moved to Saturday
afternoons (replacing rightwinger, nice guy, Mike Wiley, who calls them "Two
Yentas Venting") and then moved to weeknights, replacing blowhard Chuck Adler
and the Sextalk show.
