Given Capstar's reputation for, err, frugality, don't you suppose that the
rule is, if anybody picks up the toll-free number during your shift, Capstar
docks your pay for the cost of the call? I mean, if staff members actually
picked up the toll-free line, it could cost the Wall St types maybe
$100/month. Multiply that by 500 stations and 12 months per year and we're
talking the better part of $1 million. Capstar would have to let go at least
20 more people to pay for those calls. Look at it this way, by paying for
the call yourself, you're helping out a colleague.
