Is this myth or truth, that some stations actually put countdown timers on
mic switches to keep you in and out under say, :10 or less? I know that
even high profile AC stations like the former WHDH didn't go for
talk-downs -- punch a tight segue, mic open and take it to the post (or
jingle). It did encourage concentration and conciseness. I must admit,
hearing jocks talk down a song and back up into the next didn't flow as
well.
