This is broadband...our way or the highway

Media One is at it again.  The local cable monopoly has decided to
eliminate Channel 8 (WMTW-TV) from our system in favor of Channel 27
(WUNI-TV) as part of their longstanding effort to better serve the
burgeoning Hispanic community in Rollinsford and Somersworth, NH. ;)
They've also decided to add WMFP-TV Channel 62.  Big whoop.

But the final blow comes in the category of cable FM (the *only* way
to hear Boston signals reliably in apartment buildings in this part of
the world.)  We've been told that the brave new world of broadband
means that our current $3.00/month package of 35 signals will be
replaced with a new and improved package of 10 (count 'em) signals at
$1.95 per month.)  Maybe they needed the spectrum for Media One
Express. ;)
