NBC/Mutual - Pt. 2

A slightly different spin is emerging on the Westwood One changes.  I've
seen
one quote from a WW1 exec who says Mutual and NBC News feeds will still
be available, but originating from NYC instead of Alexandria, VA.  He
attributes the consolidation to improved utilization of resources.  One
source says there only were 50 workers in VA and some of them will move
to Manhattan; another source says 40 people get the axe.  Both agree
dozens, perhaps hundreds of WW1 employees will remain in VA as part of an
expanding operation (not necessarily all news-gathering).  One source
says the NBC & Mutual handles will continue, though they will actually be
provided by the CBS newsroom.
