Breaking news from Radio Digest --

Top 40 radio legend Robert W. Morgan passed away Friday night (5/22) at the
Encino Medical Center following a lengthy battle with lung cancer. Mr.
Morgan, whose trademark "Good morgan!" greeted morning radio listeners for
more than thirty years in Los Angeles, came to epitomize the "Boss" disc
jockey style in the 1960's. After beginning his professional radio career
in Northern California, Mr. Morgan joined L.A.'s 93 KHJ in 1965 and swiftly
won over the city's listeners with his upbeat, sophisticated style.

Following his stint at KHJ, Mr. Morgan worked at KIQQ-FM, KMPC, KMGG-FM
and, for the past six years, at K-Earth 101 (KRTH) in Los Angeles. He
retired from KRTH earlier this year to battle lung cancer, which he said
came as the result of 35 years of smoking.

Radio Digest is currently planning a retrospective tribute to Mr. Morgan,
which will be published online this weekend. In the meantime, we invite you
to visit Reelradio's loving "Bossography" of Mr. Morgan, which can be found
