Yes, all of the above-mentioned college stations have occasional fundraising
drives.  At WMBR, we only do it one week out of the year (traditionally
sometime in November).  I can't speak for the others.

The major difference between WUMB and the college stations is that UMB
receives CPB funding (and all the shoestrings that come attached), while
the college stations don't.  Long time ago, what was then WTBS did apply
for CPB funding.  In hindsight, I'm very glad they (we) didn't get it.
