Gordon Swan's memorial service

Along with a student of mine from Emerson, I attended the memorial service
at the First Congregational Church in Milton, and it was a very dignified
and loving tribute to Gordon by people who knew him best-- such as his
minister, his oldest son, etc.  Also in attendance were Wilmer C. Swartley
(Bill was the first GM of WBZ-TV and was also a former Westinghouse regional
VP), former WBZ Newsman Don Batting, Fred B. Cole (ex WBZ and WHDH), and
former WBZ GM during the payola days Paul O'Friel.  Swartley looks great
considering he is 89!  Like Gordon, he too is still working...
