I remember hearing some time ago that someone at NBC's warehouse had
pitched out kinescopes of all of Milton Berle's Texaco Star Theatre shows.
It is said that Berle was quite upset when he heard it.
OTOH, apparently there are quite a few kinescopes available of the Howdy
Doody show, for some reason. Several years ago, Buffalo Bob Smith wanted
to colorize them and re-package them for cable, but he sold the rights to
NBC back in the 1950s. He wanted to buy the rights back, but NBC wouldn't
sell.
