A lot of teens are listening to "underground" music that isn't on the
"mainstream" stations. Many are listening to College radio now. If you
noticed BCN and FNX are playing a lot more Ska which was something that
wasn't played much to to his lack of people knowing about it. AAF is playing
a lot of Hardcore lately. Many clubs have all age afternoon shows featuring
Punk, Metal, Ska and Hardocre shows that atteract many to that musical form.
The punk movement of a few years ago you can thank college radio for as well.
When the big stations notice that there ratings are down and it's not going
to the competion they tend to listen to what the college stations are playing
and go for that.
