Thought you'd find this interesting-- from the wire services on 16 October 1947:

The cornerstone for the new WBZ Radio and Television center in Allston was
put in place today.  Described as a 'miniature Radio City', the center will
provide seven ultra-modern studios, including one especially fitted for
television productions and another auditorium studio complete with theater
seating, stage, and dressing room.  Transmitters for television and
frequency modulation will be located in the new building, while the present
transmitters for shortwave and WBZ will remain at Hull...  WBZ station
manager W.C. Swartley said that television programs are expected to be aired
by March 1, 1948...
