Lyric edits were all around in the 1960's and 1970's. One in
particular that still rings in my mind was the one I heard in 1974 on
WLS in Chicago ("The Big 89 !"). It was "Life Is A Rock, But The Radio
Rolled Me" by a semi-group called "Reunion". I am sure you 70's folks truly
remember the lyrics.......
"Life is a rock, but the radio rolled me.
Gotta turn it up LOUDER....So my DJ told me......
Woo-Woo...."
You know the rest. But on WLS you heard....
"Life is a rock, but W-L-S rolled me......"
Ah, before that "Dedham" station.... 890 was truly a great place
to be. Ah, but alas.... it's all gone. All that's left is "the Dedham
Station" :( Burrrrr........
