Leo Egan not only played music-- he had been a sports reporter for the old
Boston Record- American newspaper, I believe-- if it wasn't the Record, it
was some other now defunct newspaper-- and when Bump Hadley was no longer
doing sports, Leo was hired with big fan-fare in 1953 at WBZ.

My dream-team news department would have to have Edward R. Murrow as a
commentator.  Can you think of anyone with more credibility?
