WKVT, WVAY to be sold
- Subject: WKVT, WVAY to be sold

The owners of WKVT (1490, 92.7 Brattleboro) and WVAY (100.7 Wilmington,
104.7 Jamaica) signed an agreement Thursday under which it would be sold to
WKNE (1290, 103.7 Keene), ending months of rumors and speculation of a
possible sale of the stations. The combined radio stations will do business
as Northland Radio. There are no planned changes in programming for any of
the stations; WVAY will continue to simulcast WKVT-FM, and no layoffs are
expected.
For the complete story, pick up today's (May 2) Brattleboro Reformer, and
turn to page 9. I will be happy to send anyone a complete copy of the
article via private e-mail, as I know entire articles are forbidden to be
copied in this forum.
One quote that I *must* add:
>"There will be nothing compelling these stations to bring an interesting
and exciting product
>to the listener, because you'll have three stations playing the same bloody
thing."
>-Ian Harrison
>WEQX program director
We'll see what happens...
