WHTT, Dave Supple...and more...

<<<
WHTT's liner used to "HIT RADIO 103 NOT POWER 103.
<<<

WHTT changed their image to "Power 103 for a brief spell at the end of their
stint as a CHR as an attempt to raise their ratings which they had lost.

Research told them that HIT Rdaio was not a good image. People kept having
images of WHAP! They were gonna get Hit by something....or it induced car
accidents....Or that it said that the music was too hard....They only had the
jingle package 'fixed' with the word "Power" edited in. Apparently Power was
'supposed' to be a good 'image' for them. There were even stations around
the country that called themselves "The Power Station" (Philly).

Anyway..It didn't last long at all before they became WMRQ(?) "Murky Radio".

AS for WHDH I thought Dave
sauple questionable spelling did afternoon drive on HDH when it was music.
This
is the same guy who did possibly afternoon drive and weekends on WPLM
when it was standards and than changed to AC
<<<

It was the same guy! Dave Supple was at his peak at WHDH. It was sad to
hear him playing scartchy LP's of Bert Kempfert(sp?) and Lawrence Welk.

Some may remember that Dave Supple had a brush with the law. Wasn't he they
guy who got caught with posession of cocaine? He went to Florida after WHDH,
because he was hoping that everyone would forget that incident....since he
was unemployable in Boston after it hit the papers...(From what I recall)

Also, Ed Coleman, formerly of WBZ Sports, got arrested for Cocaine as well.
He soon left WBZ....But then landed on his feet when WFAN signed on.

Remember folks, this was the early 80's....where cocaine was flowing like
water.

There was a story about how a 'salesman' would show up at Kiss 108 on payday
back in the 'high-living' Sunny Jo White days....
