Ed pre-dated that at WCAP in Lowell in the very early 80s for split shift
sports AM & PM drive.  He shared mornings with Chuck Morgan  (at ZID
Manchester?) and Mary Blake (now with RKO news.)  Ed was 'way pro' even
back then and his stint, along with the others mentioned, was destined to
be purely transitional there.  

As for the drug scene, yes the late 70s and early 80s was a terror for many
in the biz and one can only hope many landed on their feet..
