This happens because Don, like some other list members, uses a yahoo.com
e-mail address and also because Yahoo enforces certain anti-spam rules
rigidly.

If a message starts from a Yahoo user account (like Don's), and goes to
a mailing list server, and is then distributed back to several other
Yahoo users who are list-members, Yahoo treats all those copies as
suspect messages and rejects them. The list server receives the
rejection notices and eventually unsubs all those Yahoo users.

Wrapping Don's message inside another message is a partial work-around
to this problem.
