Boston radio and school closing/delay announcements

It would be a useful public service if some station or group would put 
together a recorded version of the cancellations/delays and make them 
available on a phone line--perhaps paid for by the local power companies. 
Most of the people who lose their electric service can still make 
phonecalls--even land-line calls.

I'm wondering if this is the end of an era. Over the last few days, I 
noticed that WBZ AM did not list all cities and towns that cancelled or 
delayed school opening. Instead, listeners were referred to the web site.
