WPKZ To Air Yankees Games

Red Sox games tend to last 4 and a half hours or so, perhaps longer when playing the Yankees, if you start with the hour-long pregame show (at 6 pm in many cases) and that could be a substantial percentage of
the broadcast week, but it has gone on for several years now. When the podcast mentioned "a new station"
they may have probably meant WEEI-FM, unless somehow there's another station in the area which will be added.

The radio-locator.com maps are always approximate but I'll note they have circles with the extent of local,
distant, and fringe signals. The local circle of 93.7 reaches out to Nashua, while the distant signal reaches
just beyond Fitchburg. WGHM 900 Nashua carries the Sox and even the night signal may do OK in the
 Fitchburg-Leominster area. There's always 93.7, or WTIC 1080, etc.

I don't know if WCRN is safe for 2012 but WBOQ 104.9 certainly is. Even though they're not all that far from 93.7's Peabody stick, WBOQ has made many mentions on air and on their website that they indeed will continue Red Sox games this year, and they say they are the North Shore's "hometown station"...the appeal would be for local advertisers who maybe can't afford to run spots on WEEI, to come to them. ("Fish where the fish are," it says on their site and on billboards I've seen, an invitation for local advertisers to put their spots on 104.9.) WBOQ doesn't seem to show up well in the 6 plus ratings, but the Red Sox are a major part of their selling point.
