WCAP partners take station battle to court

After reading this story.....

My observation is that if Clark is the majority owner, then maybe the
purpose for Colonel Sam Poulten's role is as a public/community liason, and
brought on board for his local contacts/connections and to enhance the
sakes appeal of the station?

Clark is a business/programming guy. Sam Pulton would have some local
notariety as a "local boy" from lowell who became a celebrated serviceman
(The Colonel!), and as a real estate broker, he probably knows the city like
the back of his hand, and has lots of local contacts. "The Colonel" could
get anyone on the phone, from bank presidents to other notables.

I could see why this would get other owners upset if he is refusing to take
part in the day to day operations (and getting a salary?)

All pure speculation on my part.

A clash over who runs WCAP radio has its primary partners heading to court.
The station's general manager and majority owner, Clark Smidt, has filed a
lawsuit in Lowell Superior Court against shareholder Sam Poulten, alleging
that Poulten has placed the station in financial peril.
