RIP Mitch Miller

Mitch Miller who died Sunday at the age of 99 certainly shaped what we
called MOR radio in the 50's and 60's by being head of Columbia
Records.
He despised rock and refused to sign Buddy Holly and Elvis and said
Sinatra was washed up

Now it occurred to me today that while Mitch recorded for Columbia
Records (CBS) the show was on NBC (RCA) and given the General's hatred
of Paley and CBS I find that fascinating.

The show was taped at NBC's Brooklyn facility near Coney Island.
