And to forestall the inevitable "so why didn't they keep the 
grandfathered WXYZ/WXYZ-TV/WRIF combo and jettison WJR/WHYT" question: 
remember that it was Clear Channel doing the acquiring, and WJR was the 
pride of the group at the time.
