WCCC and WCCC-FM Hartford (was Re: Howie Carr remembers the heyday of WBCN)

Yup.  It is the same WCCC you remember as a student at UMass.  I was a regular listener to CCC while I went to school at Westfield State College back in in the 70's.  Believe it or not, WCCC-FM (and WCCC/1290) were running Top-40 for a while in the early 70's (say around 73-74) calling themselves "Triple C".  But that "experiment" went nowhere and they reverted back to Album Rock which still is heard on 106.9 to this day.
