There's a reference to Shepherd doing some shows specifically for Boston 
(on tape, IIRC) in the biography that came out a couple of years back, 
"Excelsior You Fathead!"

I don't own a copy (borrowed it from the library), so I can't offer a 
citation, but if you can get your hands on a copy, it should answer that 
question.

Shepherd also did shows for WGBH, but that's another story.
