Well, WBCN has a full-market signal and the Pats. No doubt they could
also have the Bruins, since--for whatever hockey PBP on radio may be
worth--their parent company has the contract. Sounds as if  'BCN meets
your criteria for succeeding with a sports-talk format. According to
figures I saw a couple of days ago, WTKK outbilled WRKO by ~20% last
year. I know the analogy between sports talk and issue-oriented talk
isn't perfect, but it is relevant.
