There is nothing on the web to indicate that the $40 per radio fee is
for real, but it was posted on another remailer system by someone who is
in a position to know.  For comparison sake, it was also noted that the
royalty collected by GE for FM stereo decoders was ten cents per
receiver (even though the present FM stereo standard is an amalgam of
the GE and Zenith systems), and 25 cents per receiver for AM stereo
decoders collected by Motorola.
