Not coincidental at all. KB's sudden format change is, at least in part,
a move intended to steal WHLD's thunder a week before it's set to launch.

(Not that WHLD will be much of an AAR affiliate, either - it's being run
by a coalition of local labor activists, with local morning and
afternoon shows and continuing the lease-time arrangement that already
has WHLD airing Democracy Now and other Pacifica shows. The only AAR
content will be Franken at noon and a delayed evening broadcast of Randi
Rhodes.)

As the liberal talk format evolves, AAR's becoming just one player in
the field - Jones is a pretty big one now, too, with Stephanie Miller
and Bill Press.
