The subject of Jean Shepherd came up. I enjoyed a recent book about
him, "Excelsior,
You Fathead!" and a friend of mine got some videos of his TV shows. We
saw 4 episodes
of "Shepherd's Pie" from N.J. Public TV (very funny) and my friend
also got some episodes
of his public TV show Jean Shepherd's America. Many people are
enjoying his material,
be it the classic "A Christmas Story" (which really SHOULD have won "a
major award",
and I don't mean a lamp in the shape of a woman's leg!) or various
radio shows, comedy
albums, et al.
