One such station (1690), showing off their studios in Lynn, etc.

In some ways I admire those who put stations like this on to serve a
community but they are breaking the law (though maybe the FCC will
shut them down IF they get a complaint). Is it possible their presence
on the dial can break down the overall reception quality of legit
stations? Certainly if they're right next to one.
How would you feel if you ran WUNR and someone started a station nearby at 1610?
There are legit AM stations who could sell or give time away to these
organizations...
