I suspect if you were to look at a Billboard chart today, you'd easily
see just as much, if not more, variety in the top 40 as what was in the
charts 20 years ago.  The only difference is, you won't find a single
radio station that plays all of today's top 40.  The lines between
different genres and radio formats are just too strongly drawn these
days.
