Having to pay all of those sorts of people to run one station, when
Entercom is already paying the same sorts of people to run five
stations, is a losing proposition.

We're in a market which is dominated by three major,
horizontally-integrated national entertainment companies (and one
small, horizontally-integrated regional radio broadcaster).
Competitively, anyone who wants to outcompete these companies needs a
superlative execution to even compete with the financial advantages
that Entercom, Viacom, Clear Channel, and Greater Media have, and
probably still won't come out ahead.
