Super Bowl on HDTV

Earlier this week, the Portland Press Herald had an article about the
dispute between WGME and Time Warner over payment for Time Warner having the
right to carry WGME's HDTV signal. The contract between the parties has
ended and though they have agreed that Time Warner can continue to carry
WGME's analog signal while negotiations continue, WGME has refused to allow
Time Warner to pick up its HDTV signal so Time Warner's HDTV subscribers
will not get the Super Bowl on Time Warner.
The funny thing about the article was that the it said that Time Warner's
subscribers would not be able to get the Super Bowl in the HD format. The
author seemed to miss the fact that Time Warner's subscribers still had the
option of getting WGME's HDTV signal over the air.
Is a big antenna required to get HD signals?
