Interesting comments.  

"4,000 songs - all good."  By whose standards?, I would be inclined to ask.

I wasn't aware that ASCAP & BMI had any governance over copyright law.  

IIRC, radio stations (transmitting organizations) are allowed to make "ephemeral" copies for working purposes and they may not be used any longer than (?) 6 months from the first transmission date before being destroyed.  Unless preserved exclusively for archival purposes.
