Today's LTAR
On today's Let's Talk About Radio, Bob Bittner and
Lawrence from Methuen were talking about the 65 year
old woman from Newbury who got sued by the RIAA for
downloading thousands of songs, many of them rap. The
RIAA dropped its suit, however.
They were wondering if maybe she had a relative who
may have downloaded those songs. IIRC, she didn't;
also she barely knew how to do email on the computer,
let along file sharing...and supposedly her type
of computer was the type that couldn't download
the files anyway! The cable internet company she has
had been asked by the record companies to give the IP
addresses of the offenders. Somebody must have
transposed digits, and she was mistakenly served with
the suit as a result.
