Perhaps the real reason why radio is loathe to program to
"older" folks - old habits are hard to break.  

The "younger folks" are much more fickle, fad-driven and
accomodating of change.  Change the format, wait a week, 
if they don't buy it, change it again.  

Lather, rinse, repeat.
