There's something to be said for commitment to the market.  I remember
when Messner signed on with 'PTZ, and that's more than a decade ago.

WCAX is one of the last stations in the Eastern Time Zone to do a full
hour of news at six.  (Obviously 6 PM is early access in the Central,
and stations in Mountain and Pacific usually run the network at 6
wrapped with locals at 5:30 and 6:30.)

When I was growing up, it was always Wheel and Jeopardy! at 5 followed
by news at 6, Brokaw at 6:30, and syndie trash at 7.  Then Wheel and
Jeopardy moved to 7 and they started running bogus talk shows at 5.
