Re: now; 1510 (again?!)
But back in the mid-40s, Arquette did a five-day-a-week half-hour (maybe
only 25 minutes, following five minutes of news on the hour) radio sitcom
called Glamor Manor, in which he played the owner of a rundown hotel and his
co-star, Lurene Tuttle, played the manager. I can't remember the names of
other regular cast members, but there were some. The program ran at noon
(eastern time) on the ABC network and originated at the then KECA Los
Angeles (now KABC). I don't know whether, when it conceived of the TV sitcom
Falty Towers, the BBC had ever heard of Glamor (or Glamour) Manor, but both
shows seem to have been built on the same premise.
