In Boston, WGBH-TV channel 2 airs a program called "Greater
Boston" with Emily (Early Money Is Like Yeast)Rooney, Andy Rooney's
daughter. The newspapers sais its starting time was 7:00 pm
Monday-through-Friday, but it could begin almost immediately
after the "Jim Lehrer Gnus Hour" or after several minutes of
promos or begging. Thus the starting time ranged from 6:58 to 7:03.
This was especially irksome on Fridays because that is
the night for the media review show, "Beat, Mangle, Masticate
and Ralph the Press" which I would videotape if I expected to be out or late. So one night, when the aforementioned Emily was a guest on David Brudnoy's talk
show on WBZ-AM, I called and complained. Emily said I
was right (of course), and within days, "Greater Boston"
began at 7:00 exactement (some more French lingo out of
respect to the Frenchmen being stacked like cordwood till their family members come back from The Riviera to claim them).
So it's be cause of ME that you can set your watch when
"Greater Boston" next appears.
