Just got the word that indeed, Mr. Van Cliburn does not permit the broadcasting of his live performances; and in fact has very severe recording restrictions in place as well.

btw, WGBH interupts its live simultaneous webcast with a pre-recorded "BSO discography" when it comes to the BSO performances from the Koussevitzky Music Shed, as well as most other BSO performances.
