WNEU became WRBB in August of 1970, and I have some of the music surveys to
prove it. It stood for Radio Back Bay. I doubt anyone today recalls how
it all came about-- I've offered to up-date their history, but the current
staff doesn't seem that interested. They should be, however, because when
I became the first woman announcer on WNEU, it led to the first black
announcer, whose name was Art Rousa (I may be spelling it wrong, but it's
close). We had also changed from top 40 to album rock a few months
earlier...and yes, we moved from carrier current to 10 watt educational FM.
