increases supply). operations.
There have been many articles over the years in
various business periodicals that with the exception
of Microsoft, many of Paul Allen's subsequent
business venutres have not met with success.
One comes to mind from personal experience: Allen
started up a a software venture called Asymetrix in
the early 90s. It was supposed to be some sort of
multimedia authoring thing. Allen even got old pal
Bill Gates to bundle the software free with early
releases of Windows 3.0. However when I tried out the
software, it was something I couldn't make heads or
tails out of - just couldn't figure out what it did
or the purpose of it.
I just read about also some boutique hotel of some
sort in London that Allen owns, that's losing millions
a year. So the point is that whether it's
software, hotels, or sports radio, Paul Allen hasn't
neccesarily met with 100% success.

IMHO one of WWZNs problems is they just started out
with the wrong concept. In a city such as Boston
where people are very passionate about their local pro
sports teams, SNRs orginal concept of network generic
sports talk just doesn't cut it around here.
Boston sport fans don't want to hear a network
orginated talk show host blathering on about the U of
Podunk's college football team.
Replace 'Boston' with 'New York and WWZN with WSNR in
my comment directly above, and you will know why I
think WSNR went down the tubes, also.
I will grant you that WWZN has given it the old try,
hiring on Eddie and Sean McDonough, and Celtics
rights, but it still doesn't seem to make a
difference. One fatal flaw is their lack of viable
morning drive-time content (to use a 90s $64,000
word).
Granted 1510 does have signal problems, but the
station is still listenable in enough of the area
so I do think it's more an issue of content than
signal coverage.
