I know that someone mentioned her show was pushed as a
"broadcast counseling session"(IIRC) or something like
that, but I always view Doc Laura as a talk show host
and she seems to have very conservative views.  A lot
of people may not like her, but she is still doing
very well and still has enough callers to keep her
show going.
