Re: Dale Arnold doing Red Sox
Dale is the most famous graduate of my high school -- he was a member of the
first graduating class of Mt. Ararat School in Topsham, Maine in 1973. (I
graduated 13 years later.) Before Mt. Ararat opened, Dale went to Brunswick
High School and had a lot to do with the school putting a radio station on
the air. The station is now gone.
Gary Thorne is the most famous graduate of my law school. He graduated from
the University of Maine School of Law and practiced law in Bangor while also
doing UMaine sports. One of his client, Jordan Kobritz, brought a AAA team
to Maine and hired Thorne to do the games on the radio. After one year
doing Maine Guides games, Thorne got a job doing Mets games on the radio.
The administration and faculty of the law school never liked it when I
referred to Thorne as the school's most successful graduate. I think they
were rather point to someone who actually practices law.
