Over the years, Bob Bittner (a fellow non-sports fan) has
commented on the fact that sports stations derive far
more revenue than their ratings would justify.  Apparently
stations like WEEI-AM and WFAN-AM in NYC get higher so-called
"power ratings": they attract more desirable demographics and
listeners more likely to buy the products and services
advertised.  Thus WEEI would seem to be better positioned
to ride out the current advertising recession.
This chintzy stunt seems to indicate otherwise.
